Pakistan: commerce minister visits Mumbai
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim is visiting Mumbai, India, to open avenues for businesses in Pakistan and India and boost bilateral trade.
The Minister is leading a 60-member delegation of Pakistani business people on the invitation of Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma. The delegation consists of exporters of 28 items including leather and textiles.
He said that the visit would be positive and make Pak-India business relations stronger in times to come.
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) organised the delegation in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Pakistan High Commission in India.
More than 250 business-to-business meetings have been arranged between Indian and Pakistani businesses in Mumbai and New Delhi.
Currently, Pakistan’s exports to India stand at $300 million, while imports from India are more than $1.5 billion.
