Pakistan: leather exports up 9%

Pakistan's leather sector exports for the month of August 2011 had a value of $102.9 million, up by 11.3% compared to August 2010. The corresponding figure for July 2011 was $104 million.

During August 2011 the country exported finished leather worth $33.7 million, leathergoods worth $59.4 million and footwear worth $9.8 million.

Pakistan’s total leather-related exports for the first two months of current financial year (July-August 2011) grew by 9% to $206.9 million from $189.9 million in same period last year.
