Mato Grosso slaughter back to 2007 levels

The authorities in Mato Grosso have published figures for cattle slaughter in the first seven months of the year. Between January and July, abattoirs in the Brazilian state slaughtered just over 2.7 million head of cattle, the highest comparative number since 2007.

For the month of July alone, the total was 407,000 head. This represents an increase of 9%, 11% and 15% on the figures for the same month in 2010, 2009 and 2008 respectively.
