Gucci plans to step up its presence in China

Reports from France have said luxury goods group PPR wants to keep increasing the number of Gucci stores it runs in China, aiming to add more than ten new Gucci stores across the country during 2012.

New stores this year include one that is about to open in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. By the end of December 2011, PPR has said, Gucci will have 48 points of sale in China compared to only seven in 2005.
