New supplier award at Tannery of the Year

For the first time, suppliers to the global leather industry as well as tanners received recognition at Tannery of the Year 2011.

A new award, Supplier of the Year, was based on feedback the World Leather team received from the ten finalist tanneries. In a confidential assessment form, the tanneries named their top suppliers, based on commitment to service and innovation. The frequency with which their names appeared on the forms gave each supplier a score.

At the Gala Awards dinner in Shanghai on September 6, BASF and Lanxess emerged as joint-winners of Supplier of the Year, with Stahl receiving a Highly Commended award.
