05/09/2011
The organisers of the World Leather Congress have announced an extra activity for Thursday, November 10, the day after the congress. Participants in the congress are invited to take part in a field trip on November 10 to visit the tannery that Brazilian packer JBS Group runs in Itumbiara in the state of Goiás.

JBS Group is one of the largest Brazilian exporters of leather and the unit in Itumbiara has capacity to process 220,000 hides a month, 120,000 of them finished and 100,000 crust. More than 1,200 people work there.

Delegates will fly from Rio in the morning and return that same evening. The organisers will only go through with these arrangements if at least 20 delegates sign up.
