Istanbul Fashion Week competes with NYFW
The Istanbul Fashion Week (IFW) will be held from 7 to 10 September at Tepebasi, Istanbul – and will coincide with New York Fashion Week (NYFW). IFW organisers have claimed the show in Turkey will be a rival to NYFW.
In this respect, IFW organisers have said that a lot of foreign designers and professionals would prefer to attend the Istanbul event. During IFW, new textile and leather products, trends, innovations and creations by 32 Turkish designers will be showcased to industry professionals.
The chairman of the Turkish Advisory Board, Mr Suleyman Orakci said: “Although the number of similar fairs and exhibitions are increasing worldwide, they will help Istanbul to be one of the main centres for textile and leather fashion in the future.”
It is estimated that around 20,000 guests will visit IFW.
