Senior figures from the Chinese leather industry gathered in Xinji in Hebei Province in August to attend an industry forum. Vice-general secretary of the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), Chen Zhanguang, presided over the meeting.

Other notable participants included Professor Shi Bi from Sichuan University, CLIA general secretary, Su Chaoying, and Yang Chenjie, the dean of China Leather and Footwear Research Institutes.
