A Chinese supplier of specialty chemicals has said it intends to increase its presence in the leather market.

Focusing on the domestic tanning industry, Shandong-based Brother Chemicals has calculated that its share of the market for leather chemicals is only 1.8%. But according to the China Leather Industry Association, it plans to increase this and to deliver 10,000 tonnes of leather chemicals to Chinese tanneries before the end of 2011.

In 2012, Brother Chemicals has said it plans to increase its leather chemicals sales again to 15,000 tonnes.
