Luxury leathergoods brand Mulberry is planning a network of up to 60 stores in Asia. Chairman, Godfrey Davis, revealed the strategy in a recent interview with The Financial Times.

Club 21, a business owned by the family of majority shareholder, Singapore-based businesswoman Christina Ong, is Mulberry’s partner in most Asian countries and runs the 13 stores the company has in Asia at the moment. Chinese outlets will grow to around 30 and there will be as many as 20 in South Korea, as well as new stores in Japan, Singapore and Taiwan.

Mulberry will also open 12 new stores in European capitals in the months ahead, while a new flagship store in New York will open in September.
