China: Quanzhou city cow hide imports double

According to the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), Quanzhou city’s imports of cow hides saw a double growth in volume and 160% surging in value during the first half this year.
An official in the city’s inspection department said on July 20 the imports came from the US, Canada, Ireland, Italy and Australia. America accounts for 70% of the imported hides, the official said.
