Chinese tanneries produce almost $300 billion worth of leather in first five months

The China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) has reported that the value of the output of the leather its tanneries produced during the first five months of 2011 was $299.3 billion, an increase of 26.9% year-on-year.
Exports had a value of $23.1 billion, an increase of 28.8% over last year.
