Paraguay meat co-operative will double slaughter capacity

A meat co-operative in Paraguay has announced plans to invest $8 million in its abattoir facilities in the city of Coronel Oviedo in the south of the country.

President of the co-operative, called Chortitzer, Andreas Neufeld, has said the investment in the abattoir will be part of a wider series of reforms and will double slaughter capacity to 1,200 head of cattle a day.
