Big prize for Gruppo Dani at the National Innovation Day in Italy
07/07/2011
Gruppo Dani received the honour from the president of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano, for, in the words of the organisers of National Innovation Day having made “organisational and product innovation a lever for becoming a big international business, while still keeping all production in Italy”.
The group’s chief executive, Giancarlo Dani, said the award represented an acknowledgement of the tannery’s efforts to grow its business through pioneering projects, especially in the field of environmental protection, and of the importance it has placed on the Made in Italy concept. “At times it looked like as though we were obstinately going against the current by refusing to outsource, but we have been able to take full advantage of the synergies the Vicenza district offers to the tanning industry. Let’s not forget that Arzignano accounts for a third of Europe’s leather production.”
It’s 60 years since the Dani Group was founded. It supplies leather for automotive upholstery, footwear and leathergoods.
