JBS confirms its position as a big exporter

27/06/2011
Packer firm JBS was Brazil's biggest meat exporter over the first five months of 2011.

Official external trade statistics show that the group's exports in the January-May period had a value of almost $1.1 billion, an increase of 166.8% compared to the year before.

Indications from Brazil suggest that this total does not include sales figures for Bertin, which JBS acquired in September 2009. It puts JBS among the top 40 exporters across all sectors of Brazilian business.
