Specialty chemicals producer Clariant has formally appointed Hans-Joachim Müller, formerly chief executive of Süd-Chemie, which Clariant acquired in April, as a member of its executive committee. He will take up the appointment on July 1, 2011.

Clariant’s chief executive, Hariolf Kottmann, commented: “I am pleased that Hans-Joachim Müller has accepted the offer to join the executive committee. With his broad leadership experience in the chemicals industry and his deep understanding of the Süd-Chemie businesses he will guarantee continuity and contribute to the successful execution of our profitable growth strategy.”
