Pakistan shows off leathergoods in China
The Pakistan Pavilion event (1-3 June, China) showcased shoes and leather products from the country at Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Centre, Pazhou Island, China, in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.
Pakistan Pavilion managed to get business to the tune of $10 million, while a good number of inquiries worth millions of dollars are also in the pipeline for finalisation. 24 stalls were accommodated in Pakistan Pavilion, which displayed various kinds of quality leather.
A large number of foreign buyers and visitors from different countries such as Japan, Hongkong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, the US and Europe visited Pakistan Pavilion to see the exposition of finished leather.
“The Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) member exporters concluded bilateral trade contracts with a number of foreign buyers interested in quality products from Pakistan,” said former PTA chairman Agha Saiddain.
He said these transactions yielded a good deal of foreign exchange business establishing bilateral business relations.
