Actor says tannery helped him become a producer

Argentinean actor Martín Seefeld has said that running a tannery in his earlier life has helped him make the step up to becoming producer.

Mr Seefeld is one of the founders of a new production company, El Árbol, that has had success with a series called El Elegido (The Chosen One), which was first shown in Argentina in January, and in which he also has an acting role.

Asked by a Buenos Aires newspaper how he had handled the difficulty of bossing his fellow-actors around, he said: "I've really been a producer all my life, in different jobs. I started in the family business, running production in a tannery that employed 500 people. Then I launched my own clothing brand."

He said these experiences had taught him that it was important for people to have the person in charge on hand, to be able to ask questions or make suggestions and that, when this happens, "things flow well".
