The World Organisation for Animal Health has certified the Philippines to be free from foot-and-mouth disease, it was announced in 2 May, 2011.

 

This development “allows our country to export meat products,” presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said at a regular news briefing in Malacañang.
