German shoe retail chain Deichmann has opened its 3,000th shop in Forum Marmara Shopping Centre in Istanbul.

Deichmann has 44 retail shops around Turkey, and the company plans to reach about 200 within the next two years. It currently has stores in 20 different countries with 30,000 employees and EUR 3.9 billion turnover.

General manager of Deichmann in Turkey, Mr Attila Ozkul said: “Deichmann also will invest EUR6 million for developments and we will increase the volume of our footwear exports from Turkey to mainly Mediterranean countries.”
