Nokia uses Bridge of Weir leather

27/05/2011

Leather from Scottish tanning company Bridge of Weir has been used on Nokia’s first premium touch smartphone, the gold-plated Nokia Oro.

The phone, a luxury version of the Nokia C7 smartphone, has been bathed in 18k gold and studded with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal front keys.

The back cover is covered by Bridge of Weir leather.

Nokia said of the phone: “The Nokia Oro is a device that’s clearly intended for someone who doesn’t want their mobile device to look the same as other people’s.”
