Xiji aims high-end

The first Xinji Fashion Leather Collection exhibition, held on 18-20 May, 2011, in Xinji city, attracted over 1,000 traders, according to the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA). According to a report by the event organisers, $15.4 million of trade value and $123 million intention contracts were signed at the exhibition.

 

The sales value in the Xinji leather sector grew 14.4% in 2010, states the CLIA. With the opening of the newly built International Leather Complex in Xinji city, 650 leather traders including 32 world brand products and 100 Chinese brands have opened their stores in Xinji.

 

In addition Xinji established a Fashion Leather Studio in Beijing, joining with leather colleges and research institutes to develop new products. The city’s hopes that its efforts in product research will help it to gain a larger market share in the high-end leather market.
