Mulberry celebrates 40 years with a book
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, UK-based luxury fashion brand Mulberry, known for its leather handbags and leathergoods, has produced a book, titled ‘Mulberry’.
Quarter bound in linen with two silk book markers and an embossed front cover, the book showcases the Mulberry brand.
It contains an introduction which tells the story of Mulberry’s founding in 1971 by Roger Saul. Much of the book thereafter features images documenting the last two years, taken behind the scenes at the brand’s Somerset factory, of the Mulberry team at its shops, shows and after parties, and informal portraits of some of Mulberry’s main protagonists and primary collaborators. There are also images of Mulberry bags accompanied by quotes about the brand by various celebrity fans, including Julie Verhoeven, Katie Grand and Alexa Chung.
“Rather than a dry historical round up of the past, the book is a glimpse inside our world, a fly-on-the-wall, warts and all journey through the past two years of the brand’s life,” said Georgia Fendley, brand director of Mulberry. “It shows our public and private life, the highs and lows and the extraordinary Mulberry ‘family’ that works so hard to make it all seem so effortless.”
The book will be stocked in selected Mulberry stores and bookshops.
