Record visitors at BIFF&BIL 2011

The Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2011 (BIFF&BIL 2011) achieved a record trade figure of over $24 million for textile, garment and leather industry manufacturers and exporters who participated in the event.

 

A record of over 37,000 visitors attended the event, representing an increase of more than 35% over last year’s event. Overseas visitors came from Spain, Italy, Germany, Iran, Korea, South Africa, UK, Denmark, UAE, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey and Laos with newcomer representation from Israel, Canada, Hungary and Bulgaria.

 

Organised in a ‘fair-in-fair’ concept this year, BIFF&BIL 2011 had over 1,100 booths, covering a total area of 30,000 square metres and a total of 35 fashion shows featuring 1,200 outfits of spring-summer 2012 collections.

 

Both the Bangkok International Fashion Fair & Bangkok International Leather Fair is set to return in February 2012. BIFF&BIL 2011 was organised jointly by the Department of Export Promotion (DEP) and the National Federation of Thai Textile Industries (NFTTI).
