Leather sales to Russian tourists could double

Besides official exports to Russia, the Turkish leather industry also recorded trade valued at $1.5 billion in leathergoods, including garments and footwear, from visitors to the country from Russian. Most of these tourists visited Istanbul.
According to industry observers, the lifting of visa requirements could help the leather sector double this total in the next two years.
