Reports of insolvency for Lederinstitut Gerberschule Reutlingen
27/04/2011
When leatherbiz called the school on April 27 to ask for confirmation, there was no answer, but a spokesperson for the city of Reutlingen said the institution was closed for the Easter holidays. She confirmed, however, that the news of its insolvency was true. She said debts had gone beyond EUR 1 million and that, in spite of having given as much help as it could to LGR in recent years, the city authorities could now see no way for the school to survive.
She explained that the students currently involved in LGR courses would be able to complete the academic year, but that activity after the summer holidays was unlikely.
