Bogotá seminar should help tanners and designers form stronger ties

14/04/2011
Tanners in Colombia were able to benefit from a seminar on competitiveness, organisation and business leadership that the country’s economic development minister organised on April 14 in Bogotá. Spanish economics academic, Francisco Leguizamón, from the IESE business school at the university of Navarra, travelled to South America to chair the event.

One of the ministries hopes is to boost Bogotá’s standing as a centre for fashion design excellence. Another is to encourage stronger ties between designers and materials manufacturers, including tanners. The region around the capital city is home to 57% of Colombia’s leather, leathergoods and footwear producers.
