May deadline for Chinese leather fashion design competition

Chinese leather fashion designers have until May 15 to present their entries for the GLM Cup 2011, the designer competition for leather fashion that has been running for 14 years now.

The event, organised by the fashion design committee of the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), the China Artist Association, and the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University.

CLIA said the competition provides a platform for younger designers to show their talent and aims at encouraging creation and improving the use of leather in fahion design.

The initiative also has the support of the French Fashion Designers Association, the China Garment Association, and several other universities.
