Spanish Tanners' Federation, Acexpiel, organised a delegation of 12 tanneries, one tanning machinery manufacturer and one leather chemicals supplier to represent the country at APLF. The companies were gathered together in a 250 square-metre national pavillion in the MM&T part of the exhibition, which took place in Hong Kong from March 30-April 1.

The tanneries involved were: Alfa Tenerías; American Supply Corporation; Incusa; Inpelsa; Grupo Ledexport; Morera Pell; Pies Cuadrados Leather; Fontanellas y Martí; Riba Guixá; Serpelsa; Tenerías Omega and Timbrados Rubio.
Chemical company Quimser, and the specialised machinery company Olcina, maker and distributor of the Cangilones tanning drum, completed the group.

These companies combined to have more than 1,500 different leathers on display at the Hong Kong event, including leather made from goat, lamb, kid and rabbit skins, bovine hides, exotic leathers, vegetable tanned leathers, stretch leathers, and embossed, screen printed and digital printed leathers, in a wide variety of colours, textures and finishes.

Acexpiel said that having a strong presence at events like APLF helped the Spanish tanning industry maintain a high profile throughout the global fashion industry as well as sharing experience and know-how with clients and fellow exhibitors.
