Growth in Vietnam in first two months

Vietnam’s total leather sector exports in the first two months of 2011 had an estimated value of $1.2 billion. This compares to $801 million in the same period in 2010, and represents growth of more than 37%. The figures come from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.

The breakdown shows that leather footwear accounted for the bulk of the total, with exports worth $925 million during the two-month period, compared to $682 million in the previous year, growth of 35.6%.
