23/03/2011
Exports from the Mexican state of Guanajuato brought in revenues of nearly $10.4 billion in 2010, with the automotive sector dominating heavily, registering a share of almost 70% of the total and revenues of more than $7.2 billion.

Hides, skins and finished leather contributed $245 million, while the value of footwear exports from Guanajuato last year reached $231 million. The principal export products for the leather and footwear sector—traditionally one of Guanajuato’s most important industries—were men’s boots, finished leather and wet blue hides.

A state government report has said that overall export revenues grew by almost 38% between 2006 and 2010.
