A representative of trade development agency, the Rwanda Development Board, Martin Gasasira, travelled to Addis Ababa at the beginning of March to promote leather and leathergoods manufactured in his country at the fourth All African Leather Fair.

He told Ethiopian media that around 150 micro and small enterprises in Rwanda are involved in leather and leathergoods production, aiming to sell their products in Europe or in
Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) countries. However, he said his government was keen to expand trade in other African countries and had sent him to attend the All African Leather Fair because of the “affluent visitors” it attracts from Ethiopia and the surrounding region.
