Independência tannery will be auctioned off

The company ran into financial difficulties at the start of 2009 and has been working with its creditors since November that year to reach an agreement on a payment plan. The most recent meeting between creditors and Independência took place on March 3.
Selling off the Nova Andrina tannery, along with three Independência abattoirs, was part of the deal the company agreed to to be able to pay back what it owes to its creditors.
