Macua: growth slows but leather sales increases

Macau retail sales grew at a slower pace in the fourth quarter of 2010, data from the Statistics and Census Service has revealed. However, significant increases were witnessed in sales of leathergoods, footwear, cosmetics and clothing.

 

The total retail sales value increased 25% year-on-year, slower than 34.9% in the previous three months.

 

Looking ahead, about 79% of retailers expect sales volume to increase or remain stable in the first quarter of 2011 compared with the fourth quarter of last year.
