Brazilian hide trade drops in January

Brazilian hide and leather exports for the month of January had a value of $141.1 million, which represents a drop of 12% compared to the previous month.

Brazil’s tanning industry association, CICB, said the volume of exports during the month was 27.6 million kilos. This too indicates a fall, in this case of 14%, compared to the figure for December 2010. The number of hides exported was 2.07 million.
