US to Vietnam leather exports up 159%

US-Vietnamese bilateral trade reached a record of nearly $18.3 billion in value in 2010, up 19% from 2009, according to data released by the US Department of Commerce. Exports of raw hides and leather from the US to Vietnam increased by 159%.

 

The majority of the US’s import value went to Vietnam’s apparel and clothing accessories ($5.76 billion), furniture ($1.82 billion) and footwear ($1.62 billion).

 

According to the US International Trade Commission, Vietnam ranked 27th among the US’s 221 export partners.
