Norilia sets up new hide trading operation

Norwegian livestock by-product specialist Norilia has announced that it is to set up a new hide tradiing subsidiary, Scapo Hides AB.

The new company will have its head office in Sweden and will mainly be trading hides and skins from Scandinavia and Poland. It will be completely owned by Norilia, which is, in turn, owned by a collective of Norwegian farmers.

Former managing director of Swedish hide trading company Kontrollhudar International, Truls Troedson, will be the managing director of Scapo Hides and will, in co-operation with Norilia, take responsibility for sales. Hide trading in the Polish market will be the responsibility of Michal Grabowski, who runs a hide collecting company in southern Poland.

Through this move, Norilia said it hoped to strengthen its position in the trade of quality hides and skins.
