Indonesia to quote exports
According to the Indonesia Sourcing Report: Leather Products, Indonesian suppliers of leather products plan to hold export quotes in the next six months, to increase competitiveness in the market.
The Report features profiles of 32 export suppliers with verified manufacturing and production capacity, as well as descriptions, prices and packaging details for more than 145 popular export products ranging from leather handbags and wallets to jackets and sandals.
The non-profit Kearny Alliance produced the report with the support of its partner in development, Global Sources.
“Buyers note that Indonesia’s leathergoods producers have extensive experience making intricate handworked products,” said Alex Boome, program director of the Kearny Alliance. “Another competitive advantage is the abundance of raw materials.”
“The supplier survey results show that 75% of interviewed suppliers plan to hold export quotes,” Mr Boome said. “The rest will keep increases between 5 and 10%.”
The total annual exports of featured suppliers are more than $18.6 million. They employ roughly 800 full-time workers, who can produce up to 162,000 million pieces a month.
“Our Sourcing Reports are important components of the Kearny Alliances’ Developing Country Export Assistance Program,” said Mr Boome. “The aim of the program is to assist small- to mid-sized export manufacturers in Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines to tap new export markets. As a result, suppliers can create sustainable jobs for more people.
“We can only succeed in our mission if we give buyers information on quality suppliers who understand their requirements. The suppliers we feature in Developing Country Sourcing Reports have rich export experience and are eager to work with new overseas buyers.”
Several suppliers featured in this report have been working closely with the Export Service Centre Indonesia, a social enterprise of the Kearny Alliance. The Export Service Centre offers helps buyers source profitably from Indonesia.
