Stahl announces the death of Jean Heyer
14/01/2011
Mr Heyer spent most of his career in Stahl’s Wet End Division, initially in France and Asia and, since 1993, with Stahl Australasia in management positions in both wet end and leather finish. He had been fighting a serious illness for some time. After an initial recovery there was a relapse and he died on January 10 at the age of 56.
Stahl said that Mr Heyer had served the company for almost 35 years “with determination, commitment and incredible energy”. He was instrumental in the growth and prosperity of Stahl by creating a strong market position in the Asia Pacific Region. His experience in the field, combined with extensive travel in the region, provided him with the opportunity to get to know agents, distributors and customers very well. He was well known and respected by colleagues all over the world and by many people and friends in the trade, especially in the Asia Pacific area.
Stahl said it had lost a highly valued colleague and that his many friends within the company and in the Asia Pacific leather industry would miss him sorely. The company offered sincerest condolences to his wife, Kjersti, to other members of his family, and to friends and colleagues across the world.
