Natureally Organic Leather looks for US clients
UK-based leather maker, Natureally Organic Leather, is looking for US partners in footwear, accessories, home furnishings and other leather categories to introduce its brand of “ethical luxury” to US consumers.
Launched in 2009 by Ilona Ludewig-Mack, the company uses certified organic rare breed cattle hides from select farms in the UK known for the pedigree, health and humane treatment of their livestock. The hides are tanned using a vegetable tanning process, and the resulting leathers are left un-varnished and un-coated.
“The extra care we take to be environmentally sustainable is precisely what makes our leather so desirable,” Ms Ludewig-Mack said. “As in Europe, US consumers embrace brands that value sustainability, and if you can do that in luxury, the response can be tremendous.”
“We had to return to the past in order to innovate,” said Ludewig-Mack. “We’re a small company that hopes to make a big statement by doing what we are inspired to do and creating something timeless.”
