Leather trade in China sees increase
Chinese exports of semi-finished leather increased by 108.5% to 12,000 tons worth $2.89 million, up 149.2% in value year on year during the first 11 months.
Imports for the same products saw a growth of 19.8% in volume to 677,000 tons, in value terms an increase of 46.7% over the year earlier.
For finished leather, exports were 30,000 tons worth $340 million, up 40.4% and 72.5% in value. For imports there was an increase of 20.4% in volume to 198,000 tons and 26.9% in value to $2.41 billion for the first 11 months.
