Specialty chemicals firm TFL has published a new leaflet in its Eco Guidelines series, covering the subject of restricted substances in leather.

This new publication is the third in a series that TFL is preparing to enhance understanding of the ecological aspects of leather production.

“The tanning industry must comply with a rapidly increasing set of regulations and commercial specifications, which restrict the use of chemical substances considered to have hazardous or toxic properties,” the company said on announcing the new leaflet. “Our ‘Restricted substances in leather” publication presents the topic in a clear and easy-to-understand manner for people working in tanneries and the leather industry.”

TFL said companies interested in reading the leaflet should contact the company’s representatives in their local markets or visit the ECO Guidelines section on its website.
