Turkish footwear fair could become Europe’s biggest

The International Istanbul Footwear Fashion Fair took place in Turkey’s biggest city at the start of December, with 266 exhibitors presenting women’s men’s and children’s collections for autumn-winter 2011–2012.

A total of 37,000 visitors attended, 2,790 of them from outside Turkey, representing 66 different countries.

The general manager of the exhibition’s venue, CNR Expo, Ceyda Erem, said at the end of the event: “In the near future this fair will be the biggest footwear fair in Europe. Producers received new orders with a total value of about $100 million.”
