Clariant combines group communications and investor relations

Leather chemicals manufacturer Clariant has announced that it will consolidate the functions group communications and investor relations at the start of the new year into one single department. Ulrich Steiner, currently head of investor relations, has been appointed head of the new combined group communications and investor relations department, taking up the position on January 1, 2011.

In this new role, Ulrich Steiner will directly report to chief executive officer, Hariolf Kottmann, and will continue to lead investor relations activities.

Ulrich Nies has been appointed head of corporate communications as of January 1, 2011, in addition to his current role as head of communications for Clariant in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Since the start of November, he has been responsible for group communications on an interim basis.

On making the announcement, the company said the full organisational set-up of its group communications and investor relations department is currently under review. The new structure of the combined functions will be announced before the end of January 2011.
