Argentina’s beef exports likely to be 50% lower

04/11/2010
According to media in Argentina, the country’s beef exports for 2010 are likely to be 50% lower than the figures for last year. Figures for the first nine months of 2010 show a drop of 52%, with the country exporting 133,973 tonnes of beef.

The steep decline in beef exports this year has been caused by lower production levels, higher costs and restrictions put in place by the Argentinean government to stop domestic prices from rising too quickly.
