Pakistan leather exhibition proposed for US

Representatives of the US embassy in Pakistan have paid a visit to the the Pakistan Tanners’ Association (PTA) to discuss bilateral trade issues.
US consul general, Carmela Conroy, and the economics officer at the US consulate in Lahore, Jessica Berlow, met senior PTA figures to discuss how to increase exports of leather and leathergoods from Pakistan to the US, the current value of which is estimated at around $170 million a year.

The organisation suggested holding an exhibition of Pakistani leather and leathergoods in a US city at a future date and said it was possible as many as 50 member companies would travel to the US to take part.
