Yves Morin becomes UITIC president
The International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) has elected Yves Morin as its new president. The appointment took place at UITIC’s 17th International Congress, which was held in Léon, Mexico, on October 8-9.
Mr Morin succeeds César Orgilés, who has been president since 1991 and is currently general manager of the Spanish Footwear Institute (INESCOP).
Mr Morin is chief executive officer at Lyon-based research, consultancy and testing organisation CTC.
During his appointment at the congress he said: “The UITIC was founded in
France in 1972 and since that date the association has expanded and has currently members in more than 30 countries in four continents.
“During my mandate, I will strengthen the UITIC’s missions, which consist in promoting knowledge and innovation in the shoe industry, further the exchanges between the members and organise an international congress every two years. The shoe industry has many assets and our association must contribute to their enhancement.”
