Skyfat Tannery was awarded a President's Export Award (PEA) at a special ceremony in Uganda.

The country’s president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, presented the silver award at the eleventh edition of the awards ceremony. According to reports, he also made a rousing speech during the event.

Skyfat, which is based in Jinja but Chinese-owned, has now won five PEAs, two gold and three silver. The tannery was established in 2005 and claims to be the largest leather manufacturing plant in the country.
