Bill Rupp has been named president of JBS USA’s beef decision. JBS USA is a subsidiary of Brazilian meatpacker JBS.

Mr Rupp takes over from Richard Vesta, who has led the company’s beef segment since his appointment in March 2009. Mr Vesta is assisting with the transition and will continue to work with the company on various special projects, according to company spokesman Chandler Keys.

Mr Rupp previously worked as CEO at Meyer Natural Foods, before which he held various roles at Cargill Meat Solutions.
