Leather workers among Zagreb’s lowest earners
Workers in Zagreb, Croatia, were paid 1.3% more in July than in July 2009. However, wages fell 1.9% compared with June figures.
The average salary in July was EUR955, down EUR16.5 compared with June. The lowest-paid professions are building maintenance and landscaping (EUR448) and leathergoods manufacturing (EUR449).
Croatia exports leathergoods worth approximately $350 million per year. According to reports, the number of workers employed by the industry has shown a steady decline since 2007.
